HOW IT WORKS
A student-centered Approach
As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.
— Rumi
Clarity often emerges through reflection, conversation, and taking the next thoughtful step.
An Initial Conversation with Parents
We begin with a brief conversation to understand your student’s current school environment, upcoming transitions, and the questions or concerns guiding your search for support. This conversation helps determine the most appropriate focus—whether academic advising, executive functioning support, or transition planning.
Meeting the Student
Leslie then meets individually with the student to gain insight into how they learn, what motivates them, and where they may be feeling uncertain or stuck. These conversations are warm, reflective, and non-pressured, creating space for students to articulate their strengths, challenges, and emerging direction.
Clarifying a Path Forward
Based on these conversations, Leslie works collaboratively with families to outline a clear and flexible plan. This may include identifying priorities, mapping next steps, considering timing for transitions or school changes, and clarifying decision points ahead. When appropriate, collaboration with teachers, counselors, or outside consultants can be incorporated.
Ongoing Guidance
Support evolves as students grow and may include executive functioning coaching, academic decision-making, transition readiness, admissions preparation, narrative development, and periodic family check-ins. Engagements are designed to fit naturally into the student’s schedule and level of readiness.
Review and Adjustment
As goals shift and students gain confidence, plans are revisited and refined to reflect new strengths, opportunities, and readiness for change.
Getting Started
Families considering whether TrueNorth is a good fit are encouraged to begin with a brief introductory conversation. Pricing is shared after this initial discussion so that support can be thoughtfully tailored to each student.
